Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information may be collected when someone uses Taney County Inmate Population, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. By using the site, you accept the practices described here. Official jail, court, and arrest records remain controlled by the agencies that create them, including records governed by Missouri Sunshine Law provisions such as RSMo Chapter 610.

Information You Submit

Search Terms

When a visitor enters a name, county, state, or similar term into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. Taney County Inmate Population does not keep its own log of those search terms.

Messages

If you send an email or contact message, we use the information in that message to review and respond to it. We do not share contact-message contents outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, technical data may be collected when pages load. That data can include:

  • The internet protocol address used for the visit.
  • The browser name and version.
  • The device category and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when a browser supplies it.
  • Date and time stamps tied to page requests.

Cookies

Cookies and similar tools may help measure site use and keep basic functions working. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although some features or partner tools may behave differently when cookies are disabled.

How Information Is Used

  • To keep pages available, stable, and reasonably fast.
  • To send search requests to the correct partner service.
  • To understand which Taney County jail, court, and locator pages visitors use most.
  • To diagnose broken links, display problems, and other technical issues.
  • To support advertising that may be tailored to general interests.

Other Websites

This site links to jail rosters, sheriff pages, Missouri court and corrections portals, federal locators, ICE resources, VINELink, and private search services. After you leave this site, the privacy policy and data practices of the destination site control.

Advertising partners may also use their own systems to understand activity across websites and to display interest-based ads. Those tracking systems are operated by the advertising partners, not by Taney County Inmate Population.

Who May Receive Information

We do not sell personal information. Information may be handled by these categories of recipients when needed:

  • Search partners that process submitted lookup queries.
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance.
  • Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
  • Law enforcement, courts, regulators, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.

Security

We use reasonable security practices for a public website, but no internet-connected service can be guaranteed breach-proof. Information sent online is submitted at that risk.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us so the request can be reviewed for deletion.

Your Choices and Rights

  • You may ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • You may request correction of inaccurate information.
  • You may ask us to delete information when retention is not required.
  • You may opt out of certain processing where applicable law provides that choice.
